Stop using des_cblock * for arguments to DES functions. This amounts to a char ** since it is a char[8] *. Evil casts mostly resolved the fact that what was actually passed in were plain char *. Instead, change the DES functions to use 'unsigned char *' for keys and for input and output buffers. Unsign some values related to allocation. When allocating memory through malloc(9), we always expect the amount of memory requested to be unsigned as a negative value would either stand for an error or an overflow. Unsign some values, found when considering the use of mallocarray(9), to avoid unnecessary casting. Also consider that indexes should be of at least the same size/type as the upper limit they pretend to index. MFC after: 3 weeks

spdx: initial adoption of licensing ID tags. The Software Package Data Exchange (SPDX) group provides a specification to make it easier for automated tools to detect and summarize well known opensource licenses. We are gradually adopting the specification, noting that the tags are considered only advisory and do not, in any way, superceed or replace the license texts. Special thanks to Wind River for providing access to "The Duke of Highlander" tool: an older (2014) run over FreeBSD tree was useful as a starting point. Initially, only tag files that use BSD 4-Clause "Original" license. RelNotes: yes Differential Revision: https://reviews.freebsd.org/D13133

Retire NETSMBCRYPTO as a kernel option and make its functionality enabled by default in NETSMB and smbfs.ko. With the most of modern SMB providers requiring encryption by default, there is little sense left in keeping the crypto part of NETSMB optional at the build time. This will also return smbfs.ko to its former properties users are rather accustomed to. Discussed with: freebsd-stable, re (scottl) Not objected by: bp, tjr (silence) MFC after: 5 days

Add support for SMB request signing, which prevents "man in the middle" attacks and is required to connect to Windows 2003 servers in their default configuration. This adds an extra field to the SMB header containing the truncated 64-bit MD5 digest of a key (a function of the user's password and the server's authentication challenge), an implicit sequence number, and the message data itself. As signing each message imposes a significant performance penalty, we only enable it if the server will not let us connect without it; this should eventually become an option to mount_smbfs.

Sync with recent KAME. This work was based on kame-20010528-freebsd43-snap.tgz and some critical problem after the snap was out were fixed. There are many many changes since last KAME merge. TODO: - The definitions of SADB_* in sys/net/pfkeyv2.h are still different from RFC2407/IANA assignment because of binary compatibility issue. It should be fixed under 5-CURRENT. - ip6po_m member of struct ip6_pktopts is no longer used. But, it is still there because of binary compatibility issue. It should be removed under 5-CURRENT.
